What It Does
MotionSpice is a motion graphics library that sits inside After Effects, letting you insert pre-built animations directly into your timeline with one click. Instead of building every accent or transition from scratch, you browse categories like Glitch, Flash, Circle, or Transition, preview the motion, and drop it into your comp. All assets are shape layers, so you can scale and recolor them without quality loss.
Version 2.0 adds tools that go beyond simple insertion. The Collections & Tags system lets you organize assets into custom folders, while Smart Import applies automatic color shifts, snaps animations to markers or layers, and shuffles variations when you re-import the same asset.
Key Features
111+ motion graphics assets spread across 15 categories: Bright, Circle, Flash, Glitch, Hexagon, Line, Square, Star, Triangle, UI, BlockNoise, Transition, and TVnoise. Each asset is a shape-layer composition you can drop into any project.
Smart Import tools. Auto Color applies tint or hue shifts on import. Snap Drop aligns animations to markers, existing layers, or plays them sequentially. Asset Shuffle randomizes variations when you insert the same clip multiple times.
Collections & Tags. Organize your favorite assets into custom folders, reorder them by drag-and-drop, and export your setup as JSON to share across machines. The inline tag system integrates with search, making it easy to filter by project type or motion style.
Save Composition as Asset. Turn any comp in your project into a reusable MotionSpice asset. Build a custom animation, save it to the panel, and use it like any built-in preset.
GIF preview generation. When you drag an asset into the panel, MotionSpice auto-generates a preview GIF using the bundled FFmpeg pipeline (Windows) or Homebrew install (macOS). Hover over any card to see the animation before inserting it.
FFX text animator presets. Browse and apply text animation presets directly from the panel. Useful for kinetic typography without opening the Animation Presets folder.
Quick Action Buttons. Apply fill, invert colors, enable motion blur, fit to comp, loop, fade in/out, collapse transformations, center anchor point, reset, or flip in one click. These are especially useful when adapting a preset to match your comp’s dimensions or style.
Multilingual search. Search 140+ keywords in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese, with romaji matching for Japanese terms. Helpful if you work with international teams or prefer searching in your native language.
Compact Mode condenses the UI to icon-only headers and toolbars when screen space is tight. Toggle it on to reclaim vertical space without closing the panel.
Batch Mode lets you multi-select assets and apply actions like adding to collections or exporting data in one pass.
Full undo support and an update checker that pings GitHub for new versions.
Who It’s For
Motion designers who build social media graphics, YouTube intros, or commercial spots where quick accent animations save time. Useful if you frequently add UI elements, glitches, or transitions and want to skip the setup phase. The Collections system is especially helpful for agencies or freelancers managing recurring client styles.
