What It Does
Motion Preset Builder lets you capture animations from any After Effects layer and store them as reusable presets. Instead of rebuilding the same motion from scratch on every project, you save the keyframes once and apply them to other layers instantly from a panel inside After Effects.
The extension uses universal matchName detection to read animated properties, which means it works across text layers, shapes, effects, masks, and more, not just transform properties.
Key Features
Save presets from any layer. Select a layer with keyframes, hit save, and the animation is stored in your personal library. Works with any animated property including effects and expressions.
One-click application. Select a target layer, pick a preset from the panel, and apply. No copy-pasting keyframes or hunting through old project files.
Built-in library panel with search and filtering. As your preset collection grows, you can filter and search to find what you need without scrolling through a long list.
Compatible with After Effects 2025 and 2026. Currently listed as supporting the two most recent versions.
Who It’s For
Motion Preset Builder is a good fit for designers who repeat similar animation styles across projects or clients. If you have a signature easing style, a button animation, or a text reveal you use regularly, storing it as a preset cuts setup time considerably. It’s also useful for teams who want to share a consistent motion language without distributing full project files.
Pricing
Motion Preset Builder is available as a pay-what-you-want download on aescripts.com. You set the price at checkout. A single-user license and a floating server license are both available.
