Product Discontinued

MoCode is no longer actively developed. The developer (Danim) has been acquired and is focusing on other projects. The plugin remains functional but will not receive future updates or patches.

What It Does

MoCode turns After Effects into a full expression and script development environment. Write code with syntax highlighting, autocompletion, and multi-cursor editing. Save work to reusable libraries, create visual interfaces for expressions, and launch scripts from a customizable toolbar.

Key Features

Code Editor. Syntax highlighting, search and replace, code beautifier, and autocompletion for both expressions and ExtendScript. Multi-cursor editing and useful keyboard shortcuts included.

Project Explorer. Browse all expressions across your entire project. Search globally to find specific code. Warning icons flag expressions containing errors.

Controller Creation. Define a controller type, name, and target layer, and MoCode creates the control effect and writes the universal reference link automatically. Or use the custom MoCode syntax to code controllers directly.

Code Libraries. Save expressions and scripts to organized libraries. Tag items, add markdown documentation, and search to find what you need. Export and import libraries to share with teams. Remote sync keeps libraries up to date from a web URL or GitHub repo.

Snippets. Convert saved library items into snippets with custom prefixes. Type the prefix in the editor and select from autocompletion to insert the full code block.

Visual Mode. Assign visual controllers to variables using MoCode syntax. Create graphic interfaces for expressions so non-coders can adjust values without touching code.

Toolbar. Launch expressions, scripts, effects, and presets from a customizable toolbar. Use your own icons or generate them from letters. Multiple toolbars can be open simultaneously. Search the toolbar to find items quickly. Import and export toolbar setups to share across teams or systems.

Expression Includes. Use the require() method to include one library expression inside another. MoCode removes unnecessary functions to keep code lean.

Project Obfuscation. Obfuscate all project expressions in one click to protect code before delivery.

Timeline Explorer. Visualize how an expression evolves over time.

Universal References. Expression property links work across language versions of After Effects (French AE to German AE, etc.).

Apply to Multiple Properties. Select several properties and apply an expression to all of them at once.

Who It’s For

Useful for anyone who writes expressions or scripts regularly. Teams benefit from shared libraries and toolbar setups. Visual Mode helps template builders create user-friendly interfaces for non-technical clients.
