What It Does

Match Comp Duration adjusts the duration of selected pre-comps and layers, including all nested content to the deepest level of your project. Instead of manually changing duration settings across multiple nested pre-comps, this script handles the entire chain in one action.

Key Features

Match Comp Duration. Sets selected pre-comps and layers to match the current composition duration.

Match CTI Duration. Matches to the current time indicator position while respecting layer inPoints. Useful when you want layers to end at the playhead rather than the comp end.

Include nested layers. Affects all nested pre-comps to the deepest level. The script traverses the entire pre-comp hierarchy rather than stopping at the first level.

Include locked layers. Processes locked nested layers without requiring you to unlock them first.

Resize Comps. Fits nested comps to current comp dimensions (fit, width, or height).

Set Custom Duration. Matches selected layers to a user-defined duration in your comp’s time format (frames or timecode). Reset by clearing to 0.

The script changes total duration without repositioning layers in time. Custom duration settings respect the layer’s inPoint rather than the composition start.

Who It’s For

Useful for motion designers working with deeply nested projects. Common when building modular template systems or restructuring projects that have accumulated multiple levels of pre-comps.
