What It Does
MarKey converts keyframes into timeline markers, allowing you to preview animated properties without expanding layers in the timeline. Select your layers, click a button, and each keyframe becomes a color-coded marker labeled with the property name.
Key Features
One-click conversion. Select layers and generate markers from all their keyframes instantly. Each marker carries a brief label derived from the keyframed property (Position, Opacity, Mask Path, etc.).
Category filtering. Enable or disable marker creation for specific property types through the Settings panel. Toggle Transform, Masks, Effects, and Essential Properties on or off based on what you need to track.
Configurable marker color. Change the default marker color in Settings to match your project organization system or personal preferences.
Clean removal. The “X” button removes all MarKey-generated markers from selected layers, restoring the timeline to its original state without affecting your actual keyframes.
KBar integration. Add MarKey functions to KBar for keyboard shortcut access. Function names are documented in the included instructions.txt file.
Who It’s For
Useful when working with heavily keyframed compositions where expanding multiple layers creates visual clutter. Helps in projects with complex character rigs, detailed motion graphics, or any workflow where you need to identify keyframe timing across many layers without sacrificing timeline real estate.
Pricing
MarKey uses a pay-what-you-want model. The suggested price is $6.99, but you can choose your own amount. A trial version is available for testing before purchase.
