What It Does

MarkerMover handles marker manipulation in After Effects. Move markers forward or backward by frames or seconds, copy them between layers or comps, save frequently used marker sets, and use markers to trigger keyframed animations. Built for editors who rely on markers for timing and organization.

Key Features

Move markers within the work area using keyboard shortcuts. Shift by frames or seconds, reverse direction with modifier keys, or move in x10 increments. Toggle split markers to adjust start and end points independently, or protect specific markers from changes.

Copy, cut, and paste markers across multiple layers or compositions. Paste at original times or to the current time indicator. Option to delete existing markers in the work area before pasting, preventing overlaps.

Memory Banks store up to five marker sets that persist between sessions. Save your most-used timing patterns and paste them in place with a single click. Useful for repetitive animation triggers or consistent timing across projects.

Bulk delete markers from selected layers or the comp. Limit deletion to the work area or clear the entire composition.

Save and apply work area settings. Store your current work area before adjusting marker selections, then restore it with one click. Also works for copying work area settings between compositions.

Comp markers navigation. After Effects lets you jump between layer markers with J/K shortcuts, but not comp markers. MarkerMover duplicates comp markers to a dummy guide layer, enabling quick navigation. Update the layer if you adjust comp markers later.

Marker trigger expressions. Apply expressions to selected properties that respond to markers. Adjust animation duration, reverse playback, add delays, or drive animations from different layers or properties. Repeat animation across layers using a single set of keyframes.

KBar support. All functions available as KBar buttons. Import the included MarkerMover kit or add to your own toolbars.

Who It’s For

Motion designers who work with marker-based timing systems, editors managing complex compositions with many layers, or anyone who needs precise control over marker placement and reuse.
