What It Does
Marker Typer converts text into layer markers in seconds. Type a sentence, choose how to split it (letters, words, or commas), and the script creates markers with custom spacing. This is useful for marker-triggered animations, timing audio sync events, or organizing layers across complex comps.
It works with both layer markers and comp markers (in CC 2017+). When no layers are selected, it creates comp markers instead. You can also nudge markers by specified frame counts or delete them all at once.
Key Features
Three split modes. Split text into separate markers by individual letters, whole words, or at commas. Combine with custom frame spacing between markers to control timing precisely.
Shorthand settings. Define your own shortcuts for non-standard marker text. For example, set “SKIP” to skip a marker position entirely, creating a pause in marker-triggered animations without breaking the sequence.
Nudge and delete tools. Place the playhead between markers and nudge them left or right by a set number of frames. Or clear all markers from selected layers (or the comp) in one click instead of manually deleting each one.
Comp marker support. In CC 2017 and later, running Marker Typer with no layers selected creates comp markers instead of layer markers. All the same features apply.
Who It’s For
Motion designers building text reveal animations based on marker data. Editors organizing complex timelines with labeled markers. Anyone who needs to place dozens of markers quickly and consistently without clicking through the timeline.
Pricing
Marker Typer uses a pay-what-you-want model with a suggested minimum of $4.99 USD. Individual users can pay any amount, but businesses and teams must pay the suggested price for a valid license. This is a one-time purchase with no subscription.
