What It Does
Marker Conductor places markers on layers or compositions at regular intervals. You can set intervals by time (seconds, frames) or by BPM for music-synced work. The tool includes a tap tempo button to match markers to audio by tapping along with the beat.
This works for both layer markers and composition markers (After Effects CC 2017 and later). Markers can include comments showing the marker count, timestamp, or be left blank.
Key Features
Time-based placement. Set intervals in seconds or frames. Choose how marker comments display: count only, timestamp, timestamp with units, or no comment.
BPM-based placement. Enter a BPM value or use the tap tempo button to set the tempo by tapping. You can specify beats per measure (numerator and denominator up to 16) and choose where to start adding markers.
Automatic removal. The script includes a remove button that clears existing markers before adding new ones, keeping your timeline clean when adjusting intervals.
Work area targeting. Markers are added based on the work area range, not the full composition duration. This lets you target specific sections.
Who It’s For
Useful for audio-driven animation where you need keyframes or visual cues aligned to beats. Also helpful for editors who want to divide long footage into equal segments for easier navigation or batch processing.
Pricing
Marker Conductor uses a pay-what-you-want model. While the list price is $19.99, you can name your own price. A free trial is available to test before purchasing.
