What It Does

Mantra handles 3D content creation for both augmented reality and 360/VR workflows. Import models in Alembic, FBX, OBJ, glTF, or USDZ format, modify materials, and export AR-compatible files for Adobe Aero or Apple Reality Composer. It runs on Mettle’s 3DNA GPU rendering engine for real-time preview and manipulation.

Key Features

Mantra ObjX lets you import standard 3D formats, adjust materials directly in After Effects, and export to USDZ or glTF for AR applications. No roundtripping through 3D software for material tweaks.

Mantra Spherify converts 360° footage or stills into 3D spheres with RGBA support. Assign different images to front and back faces, useful for portal effects in AR environments.

Mantra Graphix extrudes 2D graphics, logos, and text into 3D geometry with environment lighting and blending modes. Exports match the same AR-ready formats.

For 360/VR work, the plugin includes the Mobius Transform effect, which adds virtual camera movement (dollies and jibs) to static 360° footage in post. The Globe Preview Panel shows both the full sphere and headset POV while you work.

Effects stack through the Mantra Node Panel, which manages render order without manual scripting. Several procedural effects (Turbulence, Hyperbolix, Circular Waves, Escher Droste) include audio reactivity parameters for syncing visuals to music in 360° videos.

All effects work on flat rectilinear footage in addition to monoscopic and stereoscopic 360° formats.

Who It’s For

Useful for motion designers creating AR assets without leaving Adobe, VR editors adding stylized effects to 360° footage, or anyone prototyping spatial content. Works in both After Effects and Premiere Pro.
