What It Does
Load Project or Template at Startup gives you a menu to select and auto-load After Effects projects or templates every time the application launches. Install it in the Scripts→Startup folder, and it runs automatically, presenting your designated .aep or .aet files for quick access. Useful for editors who start each session with the same custom setup, whether that’s a folder structure, camera rig, or branded template.
Convert any standard project to a template by changing the file extension from .aep to .aet. The script looks in a folder you specify and presents those files in a menu.
Key Features
Menu-based selection. Pick from multiple projects or templates stored in a designated folder, rather than digging through file browsers.
Auto-run on launch. Place the script in the Startup folder, and it presents your options as soon as After Effects opens.
Simple template conversion. Rename any .aep file to .aet to turn it into a template the script recognizes.
Who It’s For
Motion designers who work with recurring project structures, like branded opener templates, standardized folder hierarchies, or rigged character setups. Also helpful for studios that want team members to start from a consistent base project.
