What It Does

LipsyncTool handles lip sync animation through a preset layer system and timeline markers. Set up your visemes (A, E, O, M, etc.) on a preset layer with markers, then apply those keyframe sets to your art layer instantly. Works without expressions or holds, relying instead on smooth interpolation between keyframes.

Key Features

Preset layer system. Build your viseme library once on a preset layer. Each marker on that layer corresponds to a mouth shape. When you apply it to your art layer, the plugin drops in the matching keyframes.

Marker-based triggering. Place markers on your timeline where dialogue hits specific sounds. The plugin reads those markers and applies the corresponding viseme keyframes, including support for range markers and multi-frame animations.

Three-tab workflow. The interface splits into three sections: Lipsync Tab for applying keyframes with one click, CopyPaster Tab for duplicating markers or full animations between characters and comps, and MarkerShift Tab for frame-precise adjustments to markers and keyframes.

Cross-character animation copying. Copy lip sync from one character to another, even if they use different rigs. Useful when you need multiple characters saying the same line or when reusing dialogue across scenes.

Emotion swapping. Maintain multiple preset layers for different emotional states. Swap between “happy” and “sad” mouth shapes by switching preset layers without redoing the marker work.

Animation cloning. Loop or repeat phrases by cloning existing animations, helpful for background characters or repeated dialogue.

Who It’s For

Character animators working with dialogue-heavy projects. Particularly useful if you’re animating multiple characters with similar dialogue or need to maintain consistent lip sync across different emotional states. The preset layer approach saves time when working with recurring characters or standardized mouth shapes.
