What It Does
Kiona provides 110 pre-animated uppercase characters built entirely from After Effects shape layers. Each glyph includes customizable accent lines and dual-color controls. The typeface comes in two weights (light and semi-bold) with all letters, numbers, and 19 common symbols.
Key Features
Two font weights. Light and semi-bold versions, each with 55 unique characters.
Expression-driven masks. Uses minimal expressions to keep rendering fast while allowing fine-tuned animation control.
Customizable accents. Toggle accent lines on or off, adjust line width, and set both main and accent colors independently.
800x800 compositions. Each glyph lives in its own composition for easy integration into projects.
Font Manager compatibility. Includes JSX file for use with font management scripts (added in version 1.1).
The design is by Ellen Luff. No third-party plugins required. Compatible with After Effects CS6 through CC 2019.
Who It’s For
Motion designers working on title sequences, lower thirds, or kinetic typography projects who want a modern sans-serif look with built-in animation. Useful when you need consistent character animation without manually keyframing each letter.
