What It Does
Keep ‘Em Separated 2 separates or joins X, Y, and Z dimensions for a layer’s position or scale properties instantly. Works on multiple 2D and 3D layers at once while preserving existing keyframe timing and interpolation. Instead of right-clicking through menus one layer at a time, you click a button and the work is done.
Key Features
Position separation. Splits position values into separate X, Y, and Z properties across selected layers. Your keyframes stay exactly where they are, no manual repositioning required.
Scale separation. After Effects doesn’t let you keyframe scale dimensions separately by default. This plugin handles it with the same one-click approach. No more “Unlink Scale” workarounds or expression hacks.
Multi-layer support. Select any number of 2D or 3D layers and separate or join them all at once.
Non-destructive workflow. You can rejoin separated dimensions anytime. The process is reversible.
Kbar integration. If you use Kbar, you can trigger separation and joining from your custom toolbar setup.
Note: The plugin preserves keyframe timing but not curved path animation. Bezier path interpolation may convert to linear when separating dimensions. Useful for straightforward position/scale changes, less so for complex motion paths.
