What It Does

kd_AutoFade adds expressions to selected layers that automatically fade them in and out over a specified duration. You control opacity, scale, and rotation values, choosing between eased or linear motion. Works on single or multiple layers simultaneously.

Key Features

Time control. Set fade duration in seconds. The script applies your timing to both in and out points, or target either one independently.

Opacity fading. Enabled by default. Adjust how much the opacity changes during the fade.

Scale animation. Also enabled by default. Specify scale values to animate layers growing or shrinking as they appear and disappear.

Rotation options. Set rotation values like “30 to 0” to make layers rotate from 30° to 0° on fade in, then -30° to 0° on fade out.

Easing toggle. Choose between easeIn/easeOut (default) or linear motion for different animation feels.

Multi-layer support. Select multiple layers and apply the same settings to all of them at once. The script adds expressions rather than keyframes, keeping your timeline clean.

Who It’s For

Motion designers who regularly animate layers in and out will save time with this script. Instead of manually keyframing opacity, scale, and rotation for every layer, set your preferences once and apply to entire groups. Particularly useful for title sequences, lower thirds, or any project with many animated elements that need consistent fade behavior.
