What It Does
Hotdish is a ribbon-style animated typeface for After Effects that creates dynamic text with a distinctive geometric look. Each letter features overlapping ribbon shapes that animate in and out on separate timelines. The typeface includes uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and basic punctuation.

Key Features
Four-color customization. Each character supports four independent colors. You can use all four or simplify to two, giving you one color per ribbon side.
Separate animation controls. Independent 0-100% sliders control the in-animation and out-animation timing. This lets you stagger or sync the motion as needed.
Layer order flexibility. A flip option reverses which ribbon appears on top, useful for creating variations without rebuilding your comp.
JSX format support. Includes a lightweight JSX version that integrates with Font Manager. Type directly in the plugin, adjust size, tracking, line spacing, and alignment. Font Manager automatically creates a controller for the typeface’s custom settings.
Controller workflow. Works with the free Animography Controller tool. Drag characters into your comp and parent settings with one click, no manual setup required.
Who It’s For
Motion designers working on title sequences, lower thirds, or branding projects where the typeface itself is a design element. The ribbon aesthetic works for playful or contemporary projects. The discontinued status means existing users may continue using it, but new users cannot acquire it.
Pricing
This product operated on a pay-what-you-want model. Animography typefaces typically used one-time licensing (non-exclusive, non-transferable, up to three computers at one location). A bundle discount of 25% applied when purchasing four or more Animography typefaces together.
