What It Does
Glasswork applies realistic glass effects to footage in real time. The plugin renders frosty, distorted, or broken-glass styles using GPU acceleration (WebGL/OpenGL 3.3+), making it responsive enough for live preview while adjusting parameters.
You choose from built-in pattern types or import your own. The interface provides direct control over reflections, refractions, transparency, distortion intensity, blur amount, and highlight brightness. Each setting updates immediately on screen.
Key Features
Pattern Library. Choose from Stripes, ZigZag, Rhombuses, or Waves. Each pattern creates a different refraction structure, from straight bevels to organic undulations.
Custom Pattern Support. Import your own pattern graphics to define the glass structure. This lets you match specific design needs, like branding elements or architectural motifs.
Real-time GPU Rendering. The plugin uses WebGL or OpenGL 3.3+ to process effects on the graphics card. This keeps playback fluid even with complex distortion settings active.
Full Parameter Control. Adjust reflection intensity, refraction strength, blur radius, transparency amount, and highlight color independently. The interface groups these by function (pattern, style, optical properties) rather than scattering them across multiple panels.
Dual Host Compatibility. The same plugin works in both After Effects and Premiere Pro. Effects applied in one program use identical settings and produce matching output in the other.
Who It’s For
Motion designers building title sequences or transitions with textured overlays. Editors adding stylized effects to music videos or experimental content. Anyone needing convincing glass distortion without rendering multi-pass setups in 3D software.
The plugin requires a display-connected machine (no headless render nodes) and OpenGL 3.3+ support. It works on both Windows and Mac, including Apple Silicon.
Pricing
Glasswork costs $39.99 for a Single User License. The license allows installation on up to two computers as long as they are not used simultaneously. A free trial version is available with a red X watermark over the output. Entering a license code removes the watermark.
