ft-Effect Instance creates linked copies of effects that update together automatically. Copy an effect, apply it anywhere in your project, including different compositions, and changes to the original propagate through expressions.
What It Does
Instead of manually duplicating effects and keeping them in sync, ft-Effect Instance handles the linking for you. Select an effect, run the script, and it generates a copy tied to the original via expressions. Edit the master effect and all instances update automatically.
The tool offers two path modes. Absolute paths let you paste instances into different compositions. Relative paths work when staying within the same comp. An AUTO mode chooses the appropriate method automatically.
Key Features
Enable/Disable Link. Break the expression connection when needed. Disabling a link converts the instance into a standalone effect by hard-setting the current values, giving you a snapshot that no longer tracks the master.
Cross-comp linking. Unlike standard copy-paste, instances remain connected even when placed in different compositions, useful for maintaining consistent looks across multiple scenes.
