What It Does
Font Collect automatically gathers all fonts used in an After Effects project into a single folder, similar to how After Effects collects footage files. The script offers two collection methods: direct collection through After Effects for quick results, or a combined After Effects and InDesign approach for more precise font gathering.
Key Features
Two collection modes. Choose between After Effects-only collection for speed or an After Effects and InDesign hybrid method for better accuracy. Both work with a single click.
Multi-language support. The script detects and collects fonts regardless of the language used in their names or folder paths, including proper handling of non-English characters.
Collection logging. After each run, Font Collect generates a detailed log showing how many fonts were collected, how many Adobe fonts were detected (which can’t be collected locally), and which fonts couldn’t be located.
Debug mode. Hold Shift while clicking the collection button to generate a diagnostic log file on your desktop. This helps troubleshoot any issues with the font collection process.
The script only collects locally installed fonts. Adobe Fonts (formerly Typekit) are logged but not collected, since they’re cloud-based.
Who It’s For
Motion designers who need to package projects with all assets included. Particularly useful when sending projects to clients or collaborators who may not have the same font library installed.
Pricing
Font Collect uses pay-what-you-want pricing. A trial version is available that works with projects containing five or more text layers.
