What It Does

Flash Buffer Pro manages Object Buffer passes in Cinema 4D by replacing numbered channels with named variables. Instead of tracking “Object Buffer 1” or “Object Buffer 3,” you work with descriptive names like “character_hand” or “background_wall.” The plugin automatically detects unused buffer numbers, applies them to new or existing Compositing tags, and organizes your render output into named subfolders.

Key Features

Name variables. Replace buffer numbers with text tokens. Set a name template in the Name field, press Create new, and the plugin assigns the first available buffer number while displaying your custom name in Render Settings.

Separate or group modes. Create individual Object Buffer passes for each selected object (Separate mode) or assign multiple objects to a single pass (Single group mode). The Apply pass button lets you assign existing passes to selected objects.

Scene-wide or selective cleanup. Delete all Object Buffer passes across the entire scene with one click, or remove them individually from selected objects. The plugin can also remove unused Compositing tags if they serve no other purpose.

Render result sorting. The Rename function processes finished renders, moving sequence files into subfolders based on pass names. Enable Path from names to treat slashes in pass names as folder dividers, automatically building a directory structure. This runs in a separate thread, so Cinema 4D remains responsive while processing large file sets.

After Effects import script. The included script imports renamed sequences into After Effects while preserving Unicode characters in file paths (a common issue with .aec imports) and maintaining the subfolder structure created by Path from names.

Who It’s For

Useful for motion designers and 3D artists rendering multi-pass compositions in Cinema 4D who want clearer pass organization and faster After Effects imports. If you’ve ever lost track of which object was assigned to Buffer 7, or spent time manually sorting render passes into folders, this addresses both problems.
