What It Does

Face Tracker to Nulls converts After Effects’ built-in face tracking data into position-based null layers. After tracking a face with detailed features, select the tracked layer, open the script, choose specific points (eyes, mouth, etc.) from checkboxes, and press Create. The script generates nulls at those tracking positions, ready to parent other layers for facial animations or effects.

Key Features

Point selection. Pick individual facial features through a simple checkbox interface rather than manually creating nulls for each point.

Color randomization. Option to randomize null colors for easier identification when working with multiple points. Without this, all nulls default to red.

Open source code. The script’s code is freely available to view, modify, or learn from. Useful for understanding how to work with face tracker data programmatically.

Who It’s For

Motion designers working with face-rigging animations or anyone needing to attach graphics to facial features. Particularly helpful when you need multiple tracking points from a single face track instead of running separate trackers.

Pricing

This script uses a pay-what-you-want model (freemium). The product is currently marked as no longer available on aescripts.com, though it was previously suggested at $8-12. Requires After Effects CC 2015 or later.
