What It Does
Expression Toolbox was a centralized library for storing, organizing, and applying commonly used expressions in After Effects. Rather than digging through text files or forum posts, the script let you save expressions with full documentation (author, usage notes, description) and apply them to any project with automatic setup.
The product has been discontinued. The developer recommends using AEVIEWER’s expression preset feature instead.
Key Features
Expression grouping. Organize expressions by name or category and filter the library to view only relevant items. Useful when managing large collections of expressions across multiple projects.
Retrofitting. The script extracted layer names from expression code and let you select the corresponding layers from your current comp. This made it possible to reuse expressions written for one project in a completely different comp structure.
Auto-generated layer effects. When applying an expression, Expression Toolbox could automatically create required controllers (sliders, radio buttons, angles, points) based on the expression code. Optional, but saved manual setup time.
Distributable libraries. Libraries were stored as lightweight files that could be shared with other editors. The script also supported merging multiple libraries into one master collection.
Sorting and editing. Sort expressions by name, author, or date created. Edit any expression’s metadata or code after adding it to the library.
Who It’s For
Expression Toolbox was designed for editors who reused the same expressions across multiple projects, especially in team environments where sharing expression libraries made sense. The developer originally planned a web-based database for global expression sharing, but that feature was never released.

The plugin is no longer available for purchase. It was last compatible with After Effects CS6 and earlier versions.
