What It Does
Explodots is an animated sans serif typeface where each character builds in and out through tiny dots. Every letter has a unique animation path, and you can customize the type color, dot color, and timing of the exit animation.
The typeface includes three static weights (Regular, Bold, Heavy), with the Heavy weight used for the animated version. It comes in both JSX format and as a traditional After Effects project file.
Key Features
Dot-driven animations. Each character animates in and out following unique paths defined by small dots. You control the startframe for when the out-animation begins.
Color customization. Set separate colors for the main type and the animating dots.
Full character support. Includes uppercase and lowercase letters with accents, numbers, extensive punctuation, and currency symbols.
JSX integration. Works with Font Manager (sold separately) to let you type naturally instead of placing individual pre-comped characters. Also comes as an organized .aep file with all animated letters.
Workflow tools. Pairs with Font Manager for typing controls like tracking, line spacing, and alignment. The free Animography Controller tool lets you drag characters to comps and link controller settings.
