Elastic Comp Changer

What It Does

Elastic Comp Changer adjusts the duration of an After Effects composition while intelligently handling everything inside it: layers, keyframes, markers, and nested pre-comps. Instead of manually shifting dozens of elements when you need to add or remove time, the script does it in one click.

It also works as an editing tool. Place the playhead where you want to insert or remove time, and the script moves everything after that point, layers and keyframes together. Useful when you need to adjust timing mid-project without breaking your animation.

Key Features

Duration control. Add or remove frames from your composition by entering a number. The script adjusts the comp length and all layer durations accordingly.

Nested pre-comp handling. When enabled, the script recursively processes pre-comps inside your main comp, adjusting their durations and layer outpoints. Locked pre-comps are skipped by default, so you can protect specific elements from changes.

Keyframe and marker offsetting. Choose to offset keyframes, layer markers, and comp markers placed after the playhead. The script moves them forward or backward based on the duration change, keeping your animation timing intact. Time remap keyframes are supported.

Selective processing. Process only selected layers with the “Selected Precomps Only” option, or include locked layers when needed. You can also choose whether to offset keyframes in inactive layers.

Start time vs. in-point modes. Modify layer start times or move in/out points while preserving start times, depending on your editing needs.
