What It Does

Easy Bake converts expression-driven animation into standard keyframes. If you’ve built a character rig with Duik or Rubberhose, used procedural effects like Vigoro, or simply have a project bogged down by heavy expressions, this script bakes them into keyframes you can edit directly. The result is faster playback and render times, plus protection against accidental expression edits.

Key Features

Optimize Keyframes. When baking, Easy Bake analyzes the resulting animation and removes redundant keyframes. If a property moves linearly between two points, you don’t need 30 keys where two will do. This keeps your timeline clean and your project file size manageable.

Bake in Bulk. Process entire compositions at once, including nested precomps. Point the script at your main comp, let it run, and come back to a fully baked project. Useful when handing off work to clients who don’t have your plugins installed.

Surgically Undo. Made a mistake? Easy Bake tracks what it changed, so you can selectively unbake specific properties without reverting the whole project. This makes it safe to experiment with baking workflows.

The script supports path expressions (baking only) and can be triggered via KBar with arguments like ‘bake’, ‘unbake’, or ‘ignore’. It skips text animator expression selectors and locked layers automatically.

Who It’s For

Character animators using rigging tools like Rubberhose or Duik will find this essential for delivery. Same for motion designers who lean on expression-heavy tools (Ease and Wizz, Joysticks and Sliders, Ray Dynamic Colors) and need to hand off clean files. It’s also useful as a safeguard when collaborating with less technical clients or editors who might break expressions by accident.

Pricing

Easy Bake uses a pay-what-you-want model. The suggested price is $14.99, but you can choose your own amount when purchasing. A trial version is available for testing before you buy.
