Important: This Plugin Is Discontinued
Dynamic Line Chart (DLC) is no longer available. The developer recommends Graph Master as a replacement for data visualization work in After Effects.
What It Did
Dynamic Line Chart converted raw CSV data (UTF-8 encoded) into animated charts inside After Effects. The plugin could also resample data from existing chart images. All chart parameters, including grid dimensions, axes, and the data itself, could be keyframed for animated transitions between states.
Key Features
The plugin rendered 15 distinct object types for different visualization needs:
Curve. Standard XY line plots.
Fill. Area charts showing the region above or below a data series.
Region. Boxes defined by min/max X and Y boundaries.
Marker and Sprite. Points plotted at XY coordinates, either as shapes or using After Effects layers as custom markers. V-sprite extended this by varying the frame of an animated layer based on data values.
Area2 and Area3. Gradient fills between two or three data series.
Bar. Traditional bar charts from Y value lists.
Label. Text annotations at data points, driven by values or imported text.
Line column and Error line. Vertical lines showing single values or min/max ranges.
Guide1D and Guide2D. Reference lines (horizontal or vertical) and annotated points with arrows.
Measure. Labeled lines with arrows connecting two chart positions.
DLC supported primary and secondary vertical axes with scalable grids, chart and axis titles, and control over digit grouping and decimal formatting. Hundreds of animatable parameters controlled appearance and motion.
Who It Was For
Motion designers creating data-driven content for reports, presentations, or editorial work. Useful when client data changed frequently or animations needed to respond to real numbers.
Compatibility
Required an OpenGL GPU. Worked on Windows through After Effects 2023. On macOS, only compatible up to AE 2022 v22.6.4, and not supported on Apple Silicon due to Apple deprecating OpenGL.
Pricing
Last sale price was $5.99 (regular $7.99). One-time purchase, no subscription.
