What It Does

DivideLayers splits the timing of selected layers evenly across your composition’s work area. Instead of manually adjusting layer in-points and out-points to create a sequence, the script handles the math and positioning automatically.

You can choose whether the division starts from each layer’s in-point or out-point, and the script works with both normal and time-reversed layers.

Who It’s For

This script is useful when building sequences where multiple layers need to appear one after another with precise, equal timing. Think title cards, lower thirds in a row, or sequential graphic elements that need uniform spacing.

It’s a single-purpose tool that solves a specific layer timing problem, not a full animation suite.

Pricing

DivideLayers uses a pay-what-you-want pricing model. Individual users can pay any amount (suggested minimum $4.99), while businesses and teams must pay the suggested price for a valid license. This is a one-time purchase with no subscription.

Note: This script was last updated in 2012 for After Effects CS3–CS6. Check compatibility with current After Effects versions before purchasing.
