What It Does
Cavalry Importer bridges Cavalry’s procedural animation system and After Effects. Import Cavalry compositions as editable motion graphics templates, adjust parameters like colors, text, and value behaviors, then render directly in After Effects or Premiere Pro without leaving Adobe’s ecosystem.
Note: This product has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase.
Key Features
Direct composition import. Detects the last active composition in Cavalry and imports it into After Effects or Premiere Pro. Changes made to the source Cavalry project require reimporting, as the plugin creates a local copy.
Editable parameters. Supports colors, color arrays, text content, value behaviors, and images (via image shader). For attributes not directly supported, link them to value behaviors in Cavalry to expose them for editing.
Asset library system. Organize imported Cavalry assets using categories and tags, building a reusable library for backgrounds, text animations, and other procedural elements.
System Requirements
Cavalry Importer requires the paid version of Cavalry (version 1.0 or later) installed in its default location. Compatible with After Effects and Premiere Pro 2020 and CC 2019.
Limitations
The plugin only recognizes the most recently active composition in Cavalry, so activate the correct composition before importing. Not all project parameters are editable, some custom data effect properties (like Levels Histogram) cannot be linked. If you edit your source Cavalry project after import, you must reimport it to see changes.
Pricing
Cavalry Importer was priced at $24 during its active development period, after starting as a free beta. The beta license was repeatedly extended before the plugin was ultimately discontinued.
