What It Does

BS_CompositingBundle 2 provides three native After Effects plugins that handle common compositing tasks without forcing you into pre-comps. All three work in 32 bpc, making them suitable for high-end color workflows. The bundle includes bs_SmartSetMatte for matte creation, bs_MixColor for solid color blending, and bs_MixLayer for layer compositing with pre-mix adjustments.

Note: This product has been discontinued by the developer.

Key Features

bs_SmartSetMatte. Converts information from another layer into the alpha channel of your current layer. You can pull mattes from alpha, luminance, lightness, or individual RGB channels. It includes brightness and contrast controls for the input matte, plus options to invert, composite with the existing matte using operators like multiply or add, and preview the matte at various stages.

bs_MixColor. Blends a solid color into your image using standard blending modes. When combined with Set Matte or bs_SmartSetMatte, you can control the mix area using alpha data from another layer. Includes an option to set the output matte to 100%, useful for creating full-coverage color treatments.

bs_MixLayer. Composites another layer into your image with blending modes. Before mixing, you can adjust the input layer using gain/gamma/lift sliders and color pickers, similar to a color corrector. The Preserve Luma option lets you control luminance via sliders while applying chrominance from the color pickers. Additional controls include tint, clip output white (for 32 bpc clamping), effect strength, and opacity. Like bs_MixColor, it works with mattes from other layers and can set the output matte to full.

Who It’s For

Useful for compositors who want to avoid nesting compositions for simple tasks like applying color corrections to specific matte areas, or blending layers with pre-color adjustments. The 32 bpc support makes it suitable for working with EXR renders or other high-bit-depth sources.

Pricing
