What It Does

Boxer generates auto-resizing shape layer boxes around text layers. Select a text layer, click a quick start button, and Boxer creates a shape layer with a pseudo-effect panel for adjusting the box appearance. When you edit the source text, the box automatically resizes to fit.

The plugin uses standard shape layers and expressions, so projects remain shareable with clients or colleagues who don’t have Boxer installed.

Key Features

Quick start buttons. Five preset options let you generate boxes instantly without manual setup.

Dynamic resizing. Boxes automatically adjust when you change text content, line breaks, or formatting.

Offset controls. Position boxes relative to text using X/Y offset sliders added in version 1.1.

Individual corner controls. Adjust each corner radius separately for asymmetric designs.

Trim sliders. Control how much of the box shape is visible, useful for animated reveals.

The pseudo-effect panel excludes fill and stroke options, making it easier to integrate boxes with other layers or shape effects.

Who It’s For

Useful for kinetic typography, lower thirds, title cards, or any project where text content changes frequently. The auto-resize feature saves time when client revisions affect text length.

Pricing

Boxer uses a pay-what-you-want model with a suggested minimum of $29.99. Individual users can set their own price; commercial teams should pay the suggested amount for a valid license.
