What It Does
Boundary Fill attaches texture layers to individual text character boundaries. Each glyph gets its own texture instance, and everything stays compatible with After Effects’ native text animators. This turns what would normally be a manual, character-by-character layer setup into a single-click operation.
Key Features
Per-character texture mapping. Point the plugin at any layer, and it fills each character boundary with that texture. The texture follows position, rotation, and scale changes driven by text animators.
Dynamic adjustments. Rotation adjusts based on text orientation. Opacity scales proportionally to the pixel density within each boundary. Size adapts to the boundary dimensions. These options help textures behave naturally as characters animate.
Merge control. Defines the distance threshold for combining adjacent boundaries. Useful when characters overlap or when you want grouped fills instead of individual ones.
Split Text mode. Divides the text layer into separate boundary units. This allows overlap to be expressed when boundaries get close without merging. Position and opacity can be influenced by the texture layer’s properties.
Line fills. Adds connecting lines between character boundaries. Overlap Distance prevents lines from crowding around boundaries, and Smoothness controls opacity falloff.
Text Save. Captures the current text appearance as a reference. This ensures accurate boundary detection when using Merge, especially with overlapping or zero-size glyphs.
Moglyph FX integration. Pairs with the Moglyph FX plugin to enable procedural manipulation within the text layer itself (requires separate purchase).
