What It Does

Bookmarker turns frequently-used After Effects projects into visual bookmarks you can launch with a double-click. Save a project with a screenshot and comment, and it appears in a dockable toolbar. Useful if you’re juggling multiple client projects or template files and want faster access than digging through Finder or Explorer.

The plugin also syncs bookmarks across multiple machines. Point all your workstations to the same JSON bookmark file (stored in a shared folder or cloud drive), and every machine sees the same list. Changes made on one computer appear everywhere.

Key Features

Custom screenshots. Choose between capturing the current comp frame or uploading your own image. Helps you visually identify projects at a glance.

Multi-machine sync. Store the bookmark file on a network drive or cloud service, then configure all machines to read and write to that location. Bookmarks update automatically across your studio.

Batch import. Select multiple After Effects projects to import them all as bookmarks in one pass. Saves time when setting up a new library.

Live search. Type to filter the bookmark list. Finds projects by name or comment text.

Project file reveal. Right-click a bookmark to jump to the file in Finder or Explorer.

Dead bookmark cleanup. Removes bookmarks pointing to deleted or moved projects on startup.

Who It’s For

Freelancers managing dozens of client projects or template libraries will get the most use. Studios with multiple workstations benefit from the sync feature. If you work on a single machine with a small project count, the default Recent Files list in After Effects might be enough.

Pricing

Bookmarker uses a pay-what-you-want model. You can download it for free or contribute any amount you choose. The listed single-user license is $19.99, but you decide the final price. A 7-day trial version is available, limited to 5 bookmarks.
