What It Does

Blueprint converts After Effects animations into functional HTML templates for CasparCG, the open-source broadcast graphics generator. Using a wizard interface, it imports animations exported via the free BodyMovin plugin and generates templates with dynamic text and image fields. This lets motion designers create broadcast graphics without writing HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.

CasparCG powers everything from small church service streams to the Eurovision Song Contest. Its templates use variable fields for live updates during broadcasts. Blueprint removes the coding barrier, letting After Effects artists build these templates through visual design instead of web development.

Key Features

Step-by-step wizard. Guides you through template creation with no coding required. You design in After Effects, export with BodyMovin, and Blueprint handles the HTML generation.

Dynamic field mapping. Define which text or image elements update during broadcast. The tool automatically creates the variable structure CasparCG needs.

Direct BodyMovin integration. Imports JSON animation exports from the free BodyMovin plugin. Your After Effects layer animations, timing, and effects transfer to the template.

Full After Effects compatibility. Works with versions from CC 2014 through 2025, supporting a wide range of production environments.

Windows only. This is a standalone application, not an After Effects plugin.

Who It’s For

Broadcast designers familiar with After Effects but not web development. Useful for sports graphics, lower thirds, news tickers, or any live production requiring text or image updates during streaming or broadcast. If you already create CasparCG templates by hand, Blueprint speeds up the process. If you’ve avoided CasparCG due to the coding requirement, this tool opens that workflow.
