What It Does

AutoCircularMotion generates circular motion animations on layers, shape groups, and Trapcode Particular emitters. Select your layers, click Apply, and the script creates an ACM control layer for adjusting the motion. The plugin handles more than basic circles, supporting swinging pendulum movements, bouncing motions, and Z-axis depth for 3D space.

Key Features

One-click setup. Select single or multiple layers and click Apply. The script generates an ACM control layer automatically.

Shape group conversion. Select a shape layer containing shape groups, and AutoCircularMotion splits them into individual layers with linked circular motion.

Trapcode Particular integration. Apply circular motion directly to Trapcode Particular emitters. Note that light and null layers with ACM applied cannot serve as Particular emitters, so you’ll need to use the direct application method instead.

Z-axis control. Adjust depth to create motion that moves toward or away from the camera, not just in a flat plane.

Non-circular motions. Beyond circles, the controls support pendulum swings and bounce patterns. The ACM control layer provides parameters for these variations.

Multi-layer linking. Apply motion to multiple layers simultaneously and control their arrangement through the ACM control layer.

Who It’s For

Useful for motion graphics work requiring repetitive circular patterns, DNA helixes, orbital animations, or linked chain-like movements. The Trapcode Particular support makes it relevant for particle-based effects where emitters need to follow circular paths.
