What It Does
Auto Audio Mixer analyzes all audio layers in your active composition and automatically balances their levels, creates transitions between clips, and applies effects. It handles layer in/out points, stretches audio to fill gaps, and works recursively through nested compositions. You can mix based on the full composition duration or just the work area.
Key Features
Layer Handling. The script reads in/out points from audio layers and nested compositions, automatically adjusting timing and volume to create a balanced mix. It can stretch audio leftovers to fill duration gaps or blend smoothly with the next layer.
Built-in Effects. Nine After Effects audio effects are included: High-pass and Low-pass filters, Reverb, Bass & Treble, Flanger and Chorus, Delay, Stereo Mixer, Tone, and Modulator. Apply these during the mixing process without manually adding effect instances.
Mixing Options. Choose between two audio layer mixing approaches and two duration types (full composition or work area only). Set minimum volume thresholds, control transition timing between layers, and select keyframe interpolation (Easy Ease, Bezier, or linear).
Workflow Controls. Bypass specific audio layers by tagging them, disable interfering audio automatically, and use hotkeys for quick actions (Space for Build, ‘a’ for FX, ‘s’ for Settings). The UI remembers your settings between sessions and includes real-time preview.
Who It’s For
Useful for editors working with multiple voiceover takes, music beds, or sound effects layers that need consistent levels. Helps when you’re assembling rough cuts with placeholder audio or need to quickly test different audio effect combinations across many layers.
