What It Does

Binary is an animated typeface where each character consists of two overlapping geometric shapes. Each shape can be colored independently, including the overlap area, creating a three-color system per character. The typeface switches between solid and outline styles and includes a completion slider for controlling animation timing.

Key Features

Completion slider. Control animation timing from 0 to 100%, with support for custom easing or bounce expressions.

Three-color system. Set individual colors for the first shape, second shape, and their overlap.

Solid and outline modes. Switch between styles using a checkbox. Stroke width is adjustable in outline mode.

JSX format. Ships as a lightweight JSX file that integrates with Font Manager, plus an organized .aep file containing all animated characters.

The typeface includes uppercase letters (with accented variants), numbers, and basic punctuation. Characters are built with shape layers, making them infinitely scalable.

Who It’s For

Motion designers working on title sequences, social media content, or any project requiring geometric, animated typography. The modular color system makes it useful for branding work where specific color palettes matter. Works well for projects needing a modern, technical aesthetic.

Integrates with Font Manager for typing workflows, or use Animography Controller to manually arrange characters and parent settings. The 7-day trial (limited to A, B, C) requires Font Manager.

Pricing

This is a pay-what-you-want model. The animated typeface version starts at $22, and bundling four or more Animography typefaces saves 25%. A static version (non-animated) is available separately for $5. Both versions can be purchased together at a 10% discount.
