What It Does
After Spell adds spell-checking to After Effects with support for English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Portuguese, and other languages included in Chrome’s dictionaries. The plugin detects the language automatically based on your existing text and lets you edit all text layers in a composition simultaneously.
Key Features
Live multi-layer editing. Edit text across all layers in your composition at once rather than clicking through them individually.
Auto language detection. The plugin identifies which language you’re working in based on the text content, no manual switching required.
Custom dictionary. Save specialized terms, product names, or technical vocabulary that standard dictionaries flag incorrectly.
Chrome dictionary support. Uses the same dictionaries as Google Chrome’s EN-US version, covering dozens of languages beyond the ones explicitly listed.
Who It’s For
Useful if you’re working with international clients, localizing motion graphics into multiple languages, or simply want to catch typos before final delivery. The multi-layer editing makes it practical for title sequences or kinetic typography projects where text appears across dozens of layers.
Compatibility Note
As of October 2023, After Spell only functions properly on macOS. Windows support is no longer available.
Pricing
