What It Does
AE Purger clears cache and frees up memory in After Effects. It puts the built-in purge commands into a single panel with three buttons. Created by Renico van Wyk, it’s a straightforward utility for managing RAM and disk space during heavy projects.
Key Features
The script provides three purge options:
Purge All Memory & Disk Cache. Clears everything at once, freeing both RAM and disk space.
Purge All Memory. Frees RAM without touching the disk cache.
Clear All Disk Cache. Deletes cached render files from disk only.
With After Effects 25.2, Adobe updated the disk cache system. Purging now means losing rendered frames that would normally speed up previews, so use disk cache purges carefully if you’re working on complex comps.
