AE Global Renamer 2 handles bulk renaming across your entire After Effects project. It works on layers, compositions, project items, effects, text content, markers, expressions, property names, and render queue paths. Select what you want to rename, set your parameters, and apply changes project-wide or one item at a time.
Key Features
Search and replace with unlimited pairs. Run multiple find-and-replace operations in sequence. Use standard text matching or enable regular expressions for pattern-based renaming.
Prefix and suffix options. Add text to the beginning or end of selected item names. Combine with search and replace for complex renaming operations.
Incremental numbering. Generate sequential numbers with custom padding (001, 002, 003) and adjustable increments. Start at any value and count up or down, including negative increments.
Dynamic keywords. Insert layer names, indices, comments, comp names, project names, dates, or sequential numbers directly into your replacement text. The [num=##,inc=##] keyword lets you control starting values and increments with padding.
Selective application. Rename everything at once or step through items individually. Option to rename only duplicate items or skip locked layers.
Preset system. Save up to 20 renaming configurations for reuse across projects. Recent operations are tracked separately.
Compact interface. The panel docks anywhere in After Effects and stays out of your way.
