What It Does
Advanced Composition Grids generates guide layers with shape layer groups for composition layout. Select a grid preset, click “Draw!”, and the script creates customizable guides that stay in your comp as reference layers. The guides are shape layers, so you can adjust colors, stroke widths, and visibility after creation.
Key Features
Grid presets. Seven types: proportional square grid, diagonals, rule of thirds, safe margins, hexagons, isometric grid, and golden rectangles. Each preset generates appropriate guides for different design needs.
Isometric mode. True 120-degree isometric grid (hold ALT for the older mode). Useful for axonometric layouts and technical illustrations.
Golden rectangles. Implements the golden ratio as nested rectangles, a classical composition tool for balanced layouts.
Hexagonal grids. Generate honeycomb patterns for tiling effects or organic layouts.
Customizable output. Since grids are shape layers, modify stroke color, thickness, or dash patterns post-generation. Guide layers don’t render in final output.
