What It Does
3D Flip Book builds animated 3D flipbook rigs from a folder of page images. Select a folder, press a button, and the script generates a complete flipbook animation with curved pages rendered using After Effects’ ray-traced 3D engine (Cinema 4D renderer).
Key Features
One-click generation. Point the script at a folder of page images (minimum 6 pages), activate a composition, and press the build button. The script reads the images in alphabetical order and assembles them into a rigged flipbook.
Ray-traced page curves. Pages bend and curl realistically during turns using the Cinema 4D renderer. The geometry includes proper shadowing, with pages casting shadows onto each other.
Two opening modes. Choose between symmetrical opening (pages turn from the center outward) or directional opening (right-to-left or left-to-right page turns).
Spine support. Name any page file with “spine” and the script applies it to the book’s spine automatically.
Overtime duration controls. Set how pages behave over time with Still (static), Loop (continuous cycling), or Pingpong (back-and-forth) modes.
The book structure requires at least 3 sheets (6 pages). Each sheet has two sides. The first and last pages in your folder become the front and back covers.
Who It’s For
Useful for title sequences, product showcases, or educational animations where you need to present multi-page content in a physical book format. Works well when you already have page designs and need them animated quickly.
Requires the ray-traced 3D renderer, which limits compatibility to After Effects versions with Cinema 4D integration. Render times will be longer than 2D animations due to the 3D geometry.
Pricing
$29.99 for a single-user license. Floating server licenses available for multi-seat studios. A sample project is included with the download.
